My main axe. A heavy modded mahogany body Ibanez RG2020X. I got this one in 2003 and have been a trustfully companion ever since.
The first thing I did was to replace the original V7 & V8 pickups to DiMarzios, several different pickups has been in there, but today I have settled on the IBZUSAF2 (b) IBZUSAC3 (m) and PafPro (n). This guitar didn't have the middle single coil originally, so I had to route that out after I found out what makes the famous strat clean sound. There is also piezo pickups in the bridge to simulate the acoustic guitar. The original lo-pro edge has been replaced with a Edge which has a softer feel to it. The neck has been replaced with the Ibanez JPM (also known as John Petrucci) neck. I even sanded away 1.5 mm on the neck heel to lower the action on the body, which again required more routing under the pickups and the bridge. The neck was later scalloped inspired by the Ritchie Blackmore strat.
The wiring is as follows: 1. Neck humbucker in series. 2. Neck humbucker in parallell. 3. Neck hum with the coil towards the neck along with the middle single coil. 4. Inside coils of both humbuckers. 5. Bridge humbucker in series.
